Nightguards

Nightguards are necessary for keeping your teeth aligned if they have been corrected with braces. They are also sometimes necessary for conditions such as TMJ and Bruxism.

Teeth Grinding, TMJ and Bruxism

Our Dentists will look for any signs of wear that could indicate you are grinding your teeth. Teeth that appear to be worn down on the biting surfaces, or are chipped or cracked, need to be addressed to avoid larger problems or even tooth loss. Teeth grinding is most often a symptom of a disorder such as TMJ, and a standard treatment involves using a mouthguard at night to prevent you from grinding your teeth.

Other common signs of a bite problem include:

  • Frequent headaches
  • Jaw pain
  • Clicking or popping of the jaw
  • Ear pain or feeling of fullness
  • Difficulty chewing
